Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb ground beef (93% lean)
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 1/2 oz fresh ginger root
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup jasmine rice
  • 12 oz frozen cut green beans
  • 1/2 bunch green onions / scallions
  • 1 tbsp sriracha hot sauce(optional)

Method

  1. Cook the rice.

  2. Brown the beef in the vegetable oil over high heat until crisped in spots, then drain the fat.

  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger for 30 seconds.

  4. Stir in the soy sauce and brown sugar and let it bubble 3 minutes until it glazes the meat.

  5. Steam the green beans and toss them with a little salt.

  6. Build bowls of rice, beef and beans, and finish with the sesame oil, scallions and sriracha.
