Beans on Toast
Saucy tomato beans poured over buttered toast. The cheapest hot breakfast on this list and still a good one.

Ingredients
- 30 oz canned cannellini beans
- 15 oz canned tomato sauce
- 2 oz tomato paste
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 8 white sandwich bread
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
Method
Drain and rinse the beans.
Warm the tomato sauce and tomato paste in a saucepan with the brown sugar, Worcestershire, and mustard, stirring until smooth.
Add the beans and simmer gently for 8 minutes, until the sauce clings and no longer tastes of raw tomato.
Toast the bread and butter it right away so the butter soaks in.
Spoon the beans over the toast and grind black pepper on top.
