Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 24 oz jarred marinara sauce
  • 2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 8 oz shredded mozzarella
  • 2 oz grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 large eggs
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp italian seasoning blend
  • 2 tsp kosher salt

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 400F. Boil the penne 2 minutes short of al dente and drain.

  2. Warm the olive oil with the minced garlic and Italian seasoning for 1 minute, then stir in the marinara and a teaspoon of salt.

  3. Mix the ricotta with the egg, half the Parmesan, and the remaining salt.

  4. Toss the pasta with most of the sauce, then fold in the ricotta mixture in loose streaks rather than stirring it smooth.

  5. Scrape into a baking dish, top with the remaining sauce, the mozzarella, and the rest of the Parmesan.

  6. Bake 25 minutes until bubbling and browned in spots. Rest 10 minutes before serving.
