Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 12 flour tortillas (taco size)
  • 1 taco seasoning packet
  • 6 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 lb roma tomatoes
  • 1 yellow onions
  • 8 oz jarred salsa(optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream(optional)

Method

  1. Brown the ground beef with the diced onion in a large skillet over medium-high, breaking it up, about 8 minutes.

  2. Drain off the excess fat.

  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and 1/2 cup water. Simmer 4 minutes until the sauce clings to the meat.

  4. Shred the lettuce and dice the tomatoes.

  5. Warm the tortillas in a dry pan or wrapped in foil in a low oven.

  6. Set everything out and let people build their own tacos.
