Ingredients
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 10 oz canned chunk light tuna
- 10 1/2 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 14 1/2 oz canned green beans
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 4 oz shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 yellow onions
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
Method
Heat the oven to 375F. Boil the noodles two minutes short of the package time, since they will keep cooking in the oven. Drain them.
Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a skillet and cook the diced onion until soft, 5 minutes.
Stir in the soup, the milk, the pepper and the salt until smooth, then take it off the heat and fold in the cheddar.
Combine the noodles, the drained tuna flaked into chunks, the drained green beans and the sauce in a buttered 9x13 dish.
Melt the last tablespoon of butter, toss it with the panko, and scatter that over the top.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes until the edges bubble and the crumbs are deep golden. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
