Ground Chicken Patty Melts
Seasoned chicken patties griddled with caramelized onions and Swiss between buttered rye-style sourdough.

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 lb ground chicken
- 2 yellow onions
- 6 oz sliced swiss cheese
- 1 sourdough loaf
- 5 tbsp salted butter
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp dijon mustard(optional)
Method
Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-low and cook the thinly sliced onions 15 minutes, stirring, until deep golden. Scrape into a bowl.
Mix the ground chicken with Worcestershire, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form four thin oval patties.
Cook the patties in the same skillet over medium-high, 4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Top each with Swiss to melt.
Butter one side of eight sourdough slices and spread the unbuttered sides with Dijon.
Sandwich each patty with a pile of onions, butter-side out.
Griddle 3 minutes per side over medium until crisp and golden.
